Covering the Cost of Student Insurance Plan(s)

Students are not required to purchase the Institute's student health insurance plan provided they have coverage through a comparable plan. However, once you enroll in the Caltech Student Health Insurance Plan, you are eligible to have that additional cost added to your Student Expense Budget, if you are currently receiving need-based financial aid.  You may also have the cost of the Caltech Student Dental and/or Vision plans to your Student Expense Budget.

To be considered for additional loan and/or scholarship assistance to cover the cost of your Caltech student insurance plan(s), you must submit the Financial Aid Request for Caltech Student Insurance Plans form, which is available on My Financial Aid through access.caltech.

Please do not hesitate to contact the Financial Aid Office if you (or your parents) should have any questions about this process.
